King’s Bench Chambers is managed and administered by a committed, approachable and friendly team of clerks.  Our team adheres to the Quality Standard for clerks.

Each area of work is managed by a dedicated clerk:  Colin Palmer for Crime; James Basden for Civil; Elizabeth Jenkinson for Family; Tanya Luke for Family Billing and Sally Finan for Administration matters.  Our team has regular communication to ensure that all clients’ needs are met without delay.

Our efficient and professional clerking team works hard to ensure that all enquiries and cases are handled effectively and swiftly. We work in consultation with our solicitors to match their requirements and to find the right Counsel for the right case. All clerks will always consult with you on the experience, suitability and availability of Counsel for both cases and advising. The practice for fee negotiation is to provide an initial fee indication with a final quotation upon receipt of papers. Fees are always structured as appropriately as possible and are tailored to the particular case. A senior member of the clerks team is available to visit and discuss your requirements in more detail if necessary.

	Colin Palmer Criminal Clerk Telephone: 01752 221551 Email: click here Colin joined our team in 2005 as a Junior Clerk, since then he has become the Criminal Clerk. Before that he gained a BA(Hons) in Business Studies, studying a variety modules including Marketing, Accountancy, Taxation and Corporate Business. After this he spent two years in banking as a customer service manager before becoming a Clerk. In 2009 Colin completed a BTEC in Chambers Administration.
	James Basden Civil Clerk Telephone: 01752 221551 Email: click here James accepted an offer to join chambers in 2009, as the dedicated civil clerk. His primary role is to strengthen King’s Bench Chambers civil group reputation and to glean new work from local and nationwide Solicitors. Before  joining chambers, James dealt with the marketing for a national Legal Costs Drafting Firm with particular emphasis in the Southwest. Prior to his move to the Westcountry, James had clerked for 8 years and his last position in London was 1st Junior for a large Civil and Commercial Chambers in Temple.
	Elizabeth Jenkinson Family Clerk Telephone: 01752 221551 Email: click here Lizzie joined Chambers in 2007, following a successful temporary position she is now the Family Clerk. Before that she gained a BA in Business Studies, completing modules in Marketing, Commercial Law, Operations Strategy, Ethics and Psychology. Lizzie assists all clerks in the smooth day-to-day running of the Family Team.
	Tanya Luke Family Billing Clerk Telephone: 01752 221551 Email: click here Tanya Luke joined chambers in 2002 as a Junior Clerk before progressing to Civil Clerk and then becoming the Family Billing Clerk. Prior to that she spent six years as the Legal Assistant/Outdoor Clerk to the Family Dept of Wolferstans Solicitors, Plymouth.
	Sally Finan Administration Clerk Telephone: 01752 221551 Email: click here Sally originally joined Chambers in 1993 as Junior Clerk whilst we were an annex of 2 King's Bench Walk, Temple and became Fees Clerk in 2001 following independence from London. Sally is now our Chambers Administrator whilst being part of the general Clerking team.
