Emma joined chambers in 2007. Prior to joining chambers she spent a short time in the personal injury department at Bond Pearce LLP in Plymouth focusing on Claimant work.
Personal Injury:
Emma has a broad personal injury practice, acting for both Claimants and Defendants at fast and multi track level. Emma has a particular interest in Road Traffic cases but also has experience in employer’s and public liability cases, as well as inquests and Criminal Injuries Compensation Appeal Panel work. Emma also regularly advises on issues of liability and quantum.
Emma is instructed by many leading insurers but she also accepts work on a conditional fee basis.
Credit Hire:
Emma is well versed in the arguments surrounding credit hire agreements.
Commercial and General Litigation:
Emma’s experience in this area includes claims founded in contract, negligence, misrepresentation and deceit and related advisory work. Recent work has included advising in relation to a claim arising out of a rape allegation and acting for a leading telecommunications supplier for breach of contract.
Property:
Emma has a broad experience of this area including, easements, boundary disputes, proprietary estoppel, trespass and disputes as to the appropriate division of beneficial interests.
Trusts:
She has particular experience in claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996.
Employment:
Emma has recently undertaken training in this area and is keen to develop the tribunal side of her practice.
