Tom became a member of chambers in October 2008 following completion of his pupillage. On finishing his pupillage Tom joined as a member of our civil group.
Before joining chambers Tom worked for civil Solicitors in Exeter where he specialised predominantly in Employment law.

Tom appears in Employment Tribunals all over the country representing both Claimants and Respondents. His practice is both paperwork and advocacy based and he covers all areas of dispute that arise including:
Constructive dismissal
Unfair dismissal
Discrimination
Claims under TUPE
Tom has advised and acted for Claimant’s in claims against employers under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997

Tom is instructed in all tracks. His practice is both paperwork and advocacy based for both Claimants and Defendants in the following areas:
Negligence including clinical negligence
Nuisance
Highways Act
Occupiers Liability
Defective Premises
Health and Safety at Work.

Conflicts of law (specifically Tom advised in a conflict between Iraqi and English law)

Tom accepts instructions to provide advice on liability and / or quantum, evidence and to draft pleadings with a turnaround of 14 days.
